Velam Isetta

1953 - 1956

Velam (Véhicule Léger à Moteur) of France obtained a licence to produce and sell the Isetta in France and Belgium. Velam carried out no fewer than 34 improvements to the car, including rubber front suspension, better steering, different headlamps and bumpers, but retained the Iso engine.

The Velam was not a commercial success and production ceased in 1957 after just 7.115 units had been built, when it had to compete with the robust and much larger Citroën 2CV.
