A veritable 'wolf in sheep's clothing' with an unrestricted top speed of over 186 mph (300 km/h), the naturally aspirated CL63 coupe is the rarest of all the C215 series with only 26 produced featuring a hand built 439 bhp AMG 6,3-litre V12 engine, developing a whopping 620 Nm of torque - an evolution of which was used by Pagani in their stunning Zonda hypercar.

These uber exclusive super-coupes were never officially sold by Mercedes, available only through AMG with a staggering list price of £ 180.000, although no two cars were the same with a dizzying array of bespoke options and huge ‘standard’ spec including electrically heated and cooled memory massage seats, Comand satellite navigation, double-glazing, radar guided cruise control, key-less go and acres of soft leather and walnut trim.

This fine example was supplied new by Daimler Chrysler Dusseldorf in April 2002 and comes to us from a large private collection and has seen little use. The current mileage indicated is only 32.551 which is consistent with its Mot history, rising in small annual increments from 19.593 miles in July 2006 up to its last Mot in February 2012.

The vehicle’s history file includes its V5C, owners pack with Comand and Linguatronic user manuals, CL63 part catalogue, other booklets and service book showing four stamps recording main dealer services at 10,204 miles in 2005, 17.002 miles in 2006, 23.373 miles in 2007 and most recently at MB Cardiff in 2010 at 27.232 miles along with a selection of invoices, one old Mot and a letter.

We have had the car running and driving, however clearly after such a period of inactivity, a hand-built power-house such as this would benefit from a thorough service and check-over before storming down the autobahns exploring the upper limits…of its de-limited range.

Bidders are adivsed that the rev counter states ‘V8 Kompressor’ – the car is not a V8 Kompressor, but the 6,3 V12 as stated. We understand many C215 cars suffered partial electronic failure of their dash binnacles and were replaced with what was available as has evidently occurred here.
