BMW 750iL V16 "Goldfish" Concept - 1988

E32

On 8 July 1987 the engineers made a start on designing a special engine with 16 cylinders under the designation "Goldfish". The engine was created from an extension of the twelve-cylinder engine. At the enid of 1987, the engine had been assembled. Early in 1988, the engine was tuned on the test rig. The prototype was then installed in a vehicle from the latest BMW 7 Series at the time. In May 1988, the first driving tests were carried out. The engine was never intended for use in a series vehicle.
