The New Class

 

The BMW 1500 was the first model of the so-called "New Class", an entirely new type of automobile : sporty, compact, functional and versatile. Having met with a very enthusiastic response when first showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1961, its excellent sals figures finally put the company in the black once again. In hindsight, the BMW 1500 marks a key turning point in the history of the BMW group.
