Jordan 191 - 1991

Michael Schumacher's first F1 cars.... retired after just 300 meters....

Because of the unavailability of one of the team's drivers, Eddie Jordan was looking for a short-notice replacement for the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix in Spa Francorchamps. Thanks to the help of Norbert Haug, the most talented driver from Mercedes' Junior Team got the chance of his life : to start in an F1 car. Schumacher impressed : finishing 7th in qualifying. Although he moved up to 3rd after 300 meters, clutch problems forced him to retire.

This occurrence marks the unusual starting point to the most successful career in F1 motor sport.
