Porsche 924 Turbo Targa Concept - 1979

The Transaxle Targa

 

- From 1977 to 1980 the engineers in Weissach worked on possible Targa versions of the Porsche 924 and 924 Turbo.

- The overall idea was to make the roof manually removable, like on the 911 Targa.

- Due to cost issues and problems with chassis stiffness, the project was cancelled in 1980.

- The insights gained in this project were used later in the development of the 944 Cabriolet.
