- In the autumn of 1975 production of the Porsche 924 got under way at the Audi plant in Neckarsulm. The car was powered by a water-cooled four-cylinder in-line engine.

- At DM 23.240 the Porsche 924 was positioned as an affordable entry-level car below the 911 series.

- Its light weight and aerodynamics made the 924 a decidedly economical sports car.

- The Porsche Museum purchased this signal green 924 in 2013 from the original owner. It only had about 70.000 km on the odometer.
