Aston Martin 'Virage' DP 2055/1 - 1988
Development Project (DP) 2055/1 is the unique combination of a Virage prototype, a Vantage 550 prototype and being the Birmingham Motorshow Virage in 1988.
DP 2055/1 started its career as DP 2034/3, the handbuilt pre-production car of the Virage. In total only 5 Virage prototypes were built.
DP 203/3 was then converted into Vantage 550 prototype DP 2055/1, the first of 5 Vantage prototypes. Aston Martin fitted an engine with Vantage 550 specification with the twin Eaton Roots superchargers. Also the suspension, brakes, interior, etc. were replaced by Vantage 550 parts. In total the prototype has driven 21.523 test miles.
DP 2055/1 is 1 of only 3 still existing prototypes of this series and has a British road car registration.
