Porsche 924 Concept - 1974
Development Order (EA) 425.
In early 1972 VW placed a development order with Porsche for a new sports car model to succeed the VW-Porsche 914.
To save costs, it was planned to use as many existing VW and Audi components as possible.
The EA 425 prototypes were built and tested in Weissach before presented to VW management in autumn of 1974.
For reasons of product line policy VW dropped EA 425, so Porsche decided to bring it to market as the Porsche 924 in 1976.
In 2007 the car has been partial restored by the Porsche Classic specialists.
