Abarth Fiat 750 GT Coupé - 1958

Coachwork by Zagato

Presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 1956, this coupe featured the famous "double bubble" roof of most of the Zagato-designed sports cars. Tested by Autocar magazine in 1958, the Abarth 750 GT Zagato had a 400-meter standing start record of 20 seconds, with the top speed exceeding 150 km/h, very impressive numbers for a small 4-cylinder in-line 747cc engine developing 47bhp at 6000rpm. Entered into competitive events, this small ultralight coupe had excellent results, especially during the Mille Miglia of 1957, where it won its class. This success was also reflected across the Atlantic, in the United States, where quite a few were exported, with many winning very honorable victories in some important races.

The car we offer comes from the United States where it has had only two owners. The first used the car till 1969, and he used it as a racing machine that participated in several competitions in the United States during the years 1959-1966. Its second owner kept the car till 2012, the year of its import into France, when our collector, an avid Cisitalia and 356 pre A fan, was charmed by the original state of this car. The car is complete with its instrumentation, its engine and gearbox. This Abarth GT Zagato is being sold with a French customs clearance certificate and its French veteran vehicle certificate and is a great restoration project.
