Basford, Burslem
George Basford is first listed in 1864 as a manufacturer of blue and red floor tiles at Ellgreave Street. Basford Brothers brickworks is listed at Dale Hall, Burslem in 1868-70 and in 1873-79 as owned by James Powell Basford. The brickworks was on the south side of Ellgreave Street with a small clay pit by the road and one round kiln.
