La chiesa di san Giovanni si trova nel centro abitato, circondata da un muro che un tempo racchiudeva un cimitero. Entro il recinto in ciotoli c'è un edificio a due piani del secoloXIII individuato come ospedale di san Giovanni della Commenda poi trasformatosi in deposito per attività agricole. L'edificio sorse per una donazione del 1199 di Artuico di Varmo, allo scopo di assicurare assistenza e protezione ai pellegrini e viandanti che percorrevano la strada di Allemagna. La chiesa di impostazione romanica possiede una pianta rettangolare con abside semicircolare rivolta ad oriente: costruita con pietre squadrate, la facciata a capanna in pietra squadrata presenta una bifora campanaria del secolo XVI; verso la metà del Settecento la chiesa subì un intervento nella copertura. All'esterno, sul lato sud accanto all'ingresso secondario, è visibile un affresco del secolo XIII raffigurante san Cristoforo e i santi Giovanni, Giovanni e Nicolò. La chiesa possiede tre altari in legno di cui uno risalente al 1500 con sei statue. All'interno c'è un'ara romana del I secolo dopo Cristo dedicata a Sallustia Minnide, usata come acquasantiera.Sul lato destro c'è un affresco di scuola vitalesca (1348 circa) che rappresenta la Madonna della Misericordia firmato da Nicolò, figlio di Giacomo da Gemona. Uno stemma dipinto (1561)
ricorda i priori Garzano e Pippomano e il locatore Nussi.

The church of San Giovanni is located in the inhabited center, surrounded by a wall that once enclosed a cemetery. Within the enclosure in pebbles there is a two-storey building from the 13th century identified as the hospital of San Giovanni della Commenda, which then became a warehouse for agricultural activities. The building was built for a donation of 1199 by Artuico di Varmo, in order to provide assistance and protection to pilgrims and travelers who walked along the Allemagna road. The Romanesque church has a rectangular plan with a semicircular apse facing east: built with squared stones, the gabled façade in square stone has a bell-shaped mullioned window from the XVI century; towards the middle of the eighteenth century the church underwent an intervention in the roof. Outside, on the south side next to the secondary entrance, there is a fresco of the XIII century depicting Saint Christopher and Saints John, John and Nicholas. The church has three wooden altars, one of which dates back to 1500 with six statues. Inside there is a Roman altar from the 1st century AD dedicated to Sallustia Minnide, used as a holy water font. On the right side there is a fresco from a vital school (c. 1348) representing the Madonna della Misericordia signed by Nicolò, son by Giacomo from Gemona. A painted coat of arms (1561)
