After researching the geo-caching community and getting caught up on community vocab, I downloaded the Geocaching iPhone App for $9.99. I was surprised at how expensive the App was but after using it I can say it was worth the money. As I will show in the following descriptions, the application is very technologically advance. I can upload photos, comments, tips and logs to the website from my phone. The App also comes with a very sensitive GPS and compass. I was excited to get started and I found that there were several geocaches' in my area. I was excited to get started.
I chose Vester's Voltaic Pile. At first I thought the description was not helpful in finding the item because it was a summary of the first research done into batteries in the eighteenth century. Later, I'd be surprised. It had been hidden since 2011 but was recently logged as found so I figured I had a good chance of finding this cache.
