Nadine or Nola

Nola or Nadine was not planned. Not at all. When I had the 1st miscarriage, they said we'd have to wait until I had 3 periods before trying to get pregnant again. After the miscarriage, I had one period that lasted for about 3 weeks. Since I don't use any birth control other than the rhythum method the 3 week period threw me off, and I kind of didn't care what day it was. The second I found out I was pregnant (did a home pregnancy test) I traded the diet pills for pre-natal vitamins, and tried to rest as much as possible. As in not getting out of bed on my days off, and taking a lot of days off. I made an appointment at Mass General Hospital, they have a clinic in my city close-by. But I couldn't get an appointment for 2 months! I begged the woman on the phone, I told her I just had a miscarriage and I wanted to see a doctor right away, she said if there was any openings they'd call me. Now I know better, if I ever get pregnant again I'm going to a specialist, a phsyician with their own practice, they seem to fit people in better, no wait list bullshit. Sooooooooo, I had this appointment, it was March and the appointment wasn't until the end of April. The appointment was on a Tuesday, the Friday before the appointment I began to bleed. That was all. That was it. I wound up in the ER, back in the banana room. I saw those bananas and I told my husband that was a sign, a bad sign. They sent me home telling me to stay in bed, they couldn't detect a heartbeat, but since it was so early things could ok still. I "passed" everything before the Tuesday appointment. So my first and last pre-natal visit consisted of me bringing what I had expelled wrapped in tissues in a container to be examined, and signing papers that I didn't want the "remains" back for a burial. I didn't consider them remains, there was nothing disguingishable about them, it was sort of like having a heavy period, unlike the 1st episode, where I could see what was what, what was blood and what was not. I was only 8 weeks, nothing to see, move along folks.
