Les Dawson

Les Dawson was a British institution. Thats him on the left with his working partner Roy Barraclough. This phot ocame into my possession when I was asked to paint Les Dawson's portrait many years ago. The experience was pretty grim actually because I think Les D was suckered into having his portrait done (for charity ) and the person organising didnt follow through properly although he was pretty game. I only met him twice and worked from photographs but he was a funny guy in an old fashioned unreconstructed way. Pretty good pianist too when he wanted to be.
