160916-F-HP195-xxx EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. (July 21, 2016) Photos of Edwards Air Force Base personnel celebrating U.S. Air Force's 69th birthday with food, live music, and a special rededication ceremony in which Darlene Smith was honored as the widow of Lt. Col. Tom Smith, the last pilot to fly the SR-71 Blackbird on display at the Air Force Flight Test Museum. The celebration also included scheduled bus tours of Florence Lowe "Pancho" Barnes' Happy Bottom Riding Club, the former dude ranch, restaurant and hotel that factored heavily in Edwards Air Force Base history. Pat Henrich, dressed in a purple floral-printed shirt and matching pants, can be seen touring the property with archaeologists from Edwards Air Force Base's Environmental Office. Henrich, who still works on the base, says she vividly remembers when Barnes' property was still standing. (Air Force photo by Christopher Okula)
