Performance Load

The animated film The Thief and the Cobbler was meant to be artist Richard William’s masterpiece. This film is entirely created out of beautifully hand-drawn 2D animation. But because he chose to create an extremely stylized, hand-drawn, feature-length animated film, Richard William inadvertently created an extreme Performance Load for himself. His funding from film companies would often be cut, due to his inability to meet deadlines: he chose quality over quantity.

Because of his high Performance Load, artist Richard William was unable to finish his masterpiece and turn it into one polished entity, despite working on his film for a span of 28 years.
