Corsican vendetta knife

This Corsican vendetta knife is a folding stiletto similar to what Americans call a switchblade and the British call a flic knife, except that the Corsican version does not open automatically with a spring: It is opened manually and the blade locks in position. Also the Corsican knife is longer and more slender than a switchblade.

Pictured: Probably made in Thiers, France circa 1900 this is a superb example of a hand decorated bone handled folding knife of the Vendetta Corsa pattern in excellent condition. Stamped "Veritable Poudrille" Open the knife is 12.5" (32cm) and 7" (17.5cm) when closed. (www.abbeyfieldantiques.com/vintage-french-made-corsican-v...)
