Jacob Marlowe was born in downtown Bludhaven to a middle class family. Nothing within his early past would lead anyone to have believed he would become a notorious criminal, as he lived a very happy childhood with loving, caring parents. He passed through school with flying colours, especially in the math and science fields.
After high school, Marlowe found his calling in engineering and technological studies. He studied at University of Gotham for a total of five tears, before graduating. Upon his leaving university, he met Florence Whitaker who he would later wed and have a child with. They happily lived together for seven years, before they decided to have a child.
On Marlowe's thirty-first birthday, his son Edgar was born. The Marlowe family happily lived in New Town gotham for two years before the first major tragedy in Mr. Marlowe's life struck.
Warren White knew of Marlowe's engineering and technological expertise, but he also knew he would know how to make the device for the ultimate hit man. And so, one night, Warren sent his men to take Marlowe from his beloved family. Marlowe was not told of why he was taken until he reached Warren's penthouse.
Warren got Marlowe his own lab at ACE Chemicals and he began work on his suit immediately. He was seldom allowed to see his family, and was imprisoned in ACE until the suit was complete. Warren, impressed used his money to buy Marlowe and his family a new house. As soon as his wife figured out where all his sudden money was coming from, she was disgusted, and as a result she left him, taking little Edgar with her.
Following his defeat at the hands of Zulu, he decided he needed a name to counter his new found enemy. He found that "Zulu" was at the end of the NATO alphabet, but "Alpha" was at the top, and from that Alpha was born.
The latest hit Marlowe is to carry out is o Bruce Wayne, for a grand sum of $1,000,000 from Warren White.
