This photograph was taken in 2013 whilst I was completing my walk along the "Thames Path National Trail". The river Thames is at the rear of the establishment.
This pub was bought by Sir Ian McKellen (the Shakesperian actor) whose most famous character must be that of Gandalf in the "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" trilogies. It's said that Gandalf's staff is on display in the bar.
