With all the talk of lifters and leaners I wonder how many politicians and indeed members of the general public have an appreciation of what really goes in within the welfare system? I don't. I guess once upon a time I did. I know the welfare system helped my family get where we have. I know that there a many people who need a hand from time to time.
I was out late night shooting looking for subjects and found this very well cared for housing commission block. It was clean, tidy and about as inviting as such a place could be.
The lifters and leaners talk sickens me. People all over the world have very similar basic needs. I don't think there are huge swathes of society leaning. And of those sections that are, I suspect that not all of them live in places this humble...
