Builders plate on Stanier 8F 48773 at Highley, Severn Valley Railway, 7th July 2011. Steam locomotive 24607 was built at the North British Locomotive works in Glasgow in 1940 with the LMS number 8233. It had an unsual history, serving with the War Department in the Middle East.
