ACT THREE
INT-LAVISH LIVING ROOM-NIGHT
The lights in the room are on again, Larry enters the room, finding Margie weeping over the still form of Tyler, on the floor, blood staining the front of his shirt.
Larry: It was the breaker. Someone flipped the main... (trails off) Is he --
Margie: (harshly) He's dead! Oh, god, he's dead!
Larry: It was meant for me, Margie. They meant to kill me!
Margie: Oh -- what are you talking about?
Tia: (dashes into the room, gun drawn) I heard a shot--! (takes in the scene) What happened?
Margie: You killed him! You killed Tyler!
Larry makes a move toward Tia, like he might have intended to disarm her, but Tia steps back, motioning for Larry to move closer to Margie.
Tia: I didn't kill anybody.
Margie: You shot Tyler! You're holding the gun!
Tia: This weapon hasn't been fired, and when the cops get here, I'll be happy to turn it over to them to check it. I was outside when I heard the shot--
Larry: Tyler told us, before you killed him, how you ran off and left him alone. He came back here, and when you turned out the lights, you shot him, thinking it was me.
Tia: Why the hell would I shoot you, Mr. Ross?
Larry: For Filippa's money!
Tia: What are you talking about?
Margie: (hisses to Larry) It's gone!
Larry: What?
Margie: (motions Larry closer and whispers) I put the bag in my pocket, but it's gone.
Larry: Did you drop it? (looks around at the floor)
Margie: Someone bumped me, in the dark. I thought it was you or Tyler, but what if it was her? What if she eavesdropped, and heard me telling you about it, the same way she did, before?
Larry: (glances at Tia) We'll tell the cops. They can search her.
Margie nods at this, continuing to weep over Tyler, removing her jacket and covering his upper body and face with it. Larry takes out his phone, starting to make a call.
Tia: Who are you calling, Mr. Ross?
Larry: (as the clock chimes eleven) The cops, do you mind?
Tia: Not at all.
Larry: I don't understand what the hell could be taking them so long.
Margie: Maybe they can't get around your phantom tree in the road.
DFV: Valley Dispatch. How may I direct your call?
Larry: Uh, hello. This is Lawrence Ross, and I called about an hour ago. You said you were sending officers out right away, but they're not here yet!
DFV: Of course not. I haven't sent them.
Larry: H--haven't sent them? Why the hell not?! A man's been killed while we've been waiting!
DFV: Oh, Larry, my Larry, it's because you haven't been talking to the police. I'm coming home, Larry. Exterreri is bringing me home. I'll be there in one hour. (a horse whinnies loudly)

Larry: What?
