The south end of the Bund in Shanghai is being developed, gone or going are the 1920/30's dockers dwellings which are being replaced by the glass and steel of high end apartments and yet more high end shopping malls. Improvement? Well the old homes weren't easy living, no in door plumbing, cold, cramped but what's coming is soulless, shallow and superficial.... Creative destruction in action
