Going... Going.. soon gone

Over a year ago Colonial bridge just north of Grant on the MQT was wrecked due to a car going over the side and hitting the supports for the bridge. After months and months of figuring out if the railroad or the county owned the bridge, work has commenced on the removal of the classic wood bridge. Only minor work has started such as tree removal and prep work for the new higher and wider bridge to be built in its place but a Manitowoc crawler crane showed up within the last week or two to start the removal process. With knowledge that the crew would be running to White Cloud to tie down I made a late night trip down to the bridge to capture the northbound Z151 train making its way down Newaygo hill and under the currently still standing bridge as a gentle rain starts to fall, luckily it waited till after I was all packed up to start down pouring. It was rather eerie sitting down here in the cut while waiting, with all the warm rain we had during the day and quickly dropping temperatures fog came and went the entire with accompanied by one of the darkest nights I have ever been track side and the very distinctive low rumble of 645's that was heard for well over 20 minutes before the horn could even start to be heard made for an interesting wait.
