Talk to the Paw!!
This is a plastic cast of Arki Polar Bear's paw. While under anesthesia for her physical before her move to Louisville, an imprint of her paw was made into a mold and then cast in a heavy plastic.
This was an item in the silent auction at the zoo keepers' spaghetti dinner fundraiser.
I started with the opening bid of $35, and was quickly put out of the running by a 2nd bid of $125 !!!!
Too rich for my blood even for Arki's paw !!!
Below is a photo of "Jim", Alaskan Brown Bear's Paw. These clones were huge and heavy!
There were also feet clones of the gibbon family. Benny, Indah and the 2 yr old offspring who's name I can never remember. :-)
The dinner and auction were quite successful in raising money for AAZK. (The American Association of Zoo Keepers - a nonprofit, volunteer organization made up of professional zoo keepers and other interested persons.)
FYI - New Zoo Hours
Ø Weekdays: 10am-5pm
Ø Weekends: 10am-6pm
