Thank God they are safe!!

After a tiring day of working in the house before and after the painter, I was exhausted and I too slept thru Earth Hour - but at least my lights were off and no candles burning.

It was a blessing in disguise as a slow GAS LEAK had started in my home after the painter moved my cooking stove away from the wall. The smell of gas was more prominent the next morning and after calling the propane company and no one ever returned my call, I had to call the fire dept by afternoon - after the firefighters opened the windows for circulation it got even worse and they made me leave the house. I was freaking out for my cats!!!!!!!! The entire crawl space was wreaking with fumes and the firemen turned off the tank and aired out the whole house. Turns out the propane drops, not rise, and the furnace was drawing everything down into the crawl space and out through all the vents. WHEW!!

when will it all end?????

It was quite a scene - 4 Fire Dept vehicles and about 10-12 firefighters. Most of them are volunteers here. THANK GOD FOR OUR FIREFIGHTERS. Not until it happens to you do you realize how they risk their lives for us. All of them in my house making sure the fumes were drawn out with a risk of explosion. Dang!!!

All the cats are safe!! :-)

For over an hour I could not find Boo Kitty - thought he went out one of the doors when they were open. I know he is scared to death when anyone comes into the house and he hides. I could not find him anywhere - call for supper and treats - still no Boo - FINALLY I saw him peaking down the stairway - I still have NO idea where he was hiding!! CATS!

(Did I think to take any photos of the emergency vehicles in front of the house? of course not - I keep forgetting I have a camera in my phone)
