On Sunday, September 29, 2024, the United Railroad Historical Society of NJ hosted their annual "Railroad Museum [for a Day]" event at their Boonton, NJ facility.
Front and center at the event was a trio of locomotives that have served on the electrified Northeast Corridor and other NJ Transit lines: Pennsylvania Railroad GG-1 no. 4877, which was one of the last "Gs" that ran in NJ Transit service on North Jersey Coast Line trains to South Amboy; NJ Transit ALP-44 no. 4424, which was part of the first class of locomotives ordered by NJ Transit; and NJ Transit ALP-45A no. 4550, one of the agency's newest dual-mode locomotives that can operate via overhead catenary or under diesel power beyond electrification.
