Camel

Baltimore & Ohio Railroad 4-6-0 no. 305 "Camel" is seen resting in retirement at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, MD. Built in 1869 by the B&O Mt. Clare Shops, many camels were built by the railroad and were used heavily during the Civil War. They were unpopular with train crews though, as the engineer sat atop the hot boiler and fireman sat on the tender with very little shelter from weather.
