Beginner's Luck
My partner and I were driving from Westchester, NY up to Salem, NY for a ceramics event with her studio, and as we were driving up Rt. 22 I noticed we crossed the Batten Kill, at which point I started wondering if we were near the famous Batten Kill Railroad. At the next grade crossing I peeked left... nothing. Peeked right.. OH WOW! There was 4116 idling with a cut of cars! So we pulled over real quick and I grabbed a few shots of the 1950's vintage ALCO RS-3 as it shunted a few cars on industry sidings. It was quite serendipitous considering how much difficulty others have had trying to catch the BKRR in action.
