At this time the former signal box was demolished but the buildings of the former station, opened in 1846 still remained.

 

Then allocated to Crewe Diesel Depot (CD) 47539 was named after the Co-op founders in 1982. Withdrawn and broken up at EMR, Kingsbury in Feb 2002.
