course 3 final

I'm happy with my design, the execution not so much, especially the top layer. The hot weather was definitely a factor.

 

All my other Wilton course cakes have had fairly loud colors, so my instructor was surprised to see me go black and white. A little bemused by my black fondant roses. I think she really wanted me to add some red roses, or at least a black shell border at the base of each layer. Considering how bad my ropes looked up close, that probably wasn't a bad idea.
