After a summer and autumn of traveling the countryside and staying at various estates and manors,Elizabeth would travel back to London as winter approached. The winter palace now must be made ready for the 12 days of Christmas, which in Tudor England, extended from Christmas, through the Saints days into January, with each day requiring massive gilded feasts.
