G6… Groyne Six at Dawlish Warren. Groynes were erected to counter erosion along vulnerable coastal areas. Along this part of the Exe Estuary they protect a Nature Reserve, their purpose is to stop the sand from being washed away. They protect a valuable seabird breading population and other wildlife.
