Motorized Orrery - Demo Video

A functional orrery depicting a fictional planet orbited by three moons.

 

The dial on the front shows (6) days of the week.

The gearing of the mechanism works out such that every full rotation of that dial:

 

The innermost (gold) moon makes 1/6th of a rotation

The middle (silver) moon makes 1/10th of a rotation

The outermost (sand green) moon makes 1/14th of a rotation.

 

This video demonstrating the mechanism shows about 48 rotations of the dial, or 8 orbits of the gold moon.
