Ther are things That happen in life that were just not ready for, you'll never be ready for. Even if you think your ready face it. So many tines you thought you were going left but you went right, zigged instead of zagged , you wanted up but you went down these strange twists of fate happen to us all. Good reasons or not.things always have a tendency to do what they want to.

Why? Who knows? I guess if we knew we would always be okay. An that'd be great right?

Well no I don't think so

Is the unexpected that makes life interesting, the lows that really define you as a person , the tough times that make you who you are. Those times when your given the oppurtunity to show your "stuff" those are the moments that will test you and shape your future, when your thrust into making difficult decisions the temptation to do what's easiest is always there, and it's usually the first thing we wanna do. But is it the right thing? Usually not. The hard road, the long road is usually the right road. And if you choose that path it'll pay off big time. Real big. And once you get through it you'll see the new side of yourself. It will only make you stronger.

Something happened recently to someone very dear to me and itreally made me think about things about life Andy kessler passed away. I know death is a part of life and it's natural but talk about the unexpected, he got stung by a wasp, had an allergic reaction and that was it. He probably didn't even think twice about it. I mean one time he broke his hip skating in a bowl and I think he was more mad about them having to carry him out of the bowl than he was about breaking his hip. He was a tough old goat, very opinionated and believe me he would let you know how he thought about things. You could ways count on Andy telling you how it was. He was a good guy with a great heart. He was all heart but unfortunately for him and for all of us his life was cut short. At andys funeral when I was listening to friends and family speak about him it was good to hear that he'd left this earth with no

Baggage he made all his ammends in life he helped so many people in so many ways from building skateparks in NYC to helping people get sober. He had down times and he went through some rough things but when he left us he was on the upswing of his life. I think he left with a smile on his face. Knowing he did good for everyone around him. I hope I get to leave like that when I go I wanna think I made the right choices and did right by people, no baggage no stress no stones left unturned. I wish I could have spoken with him one last time though just one more conversation, one more joke one more something.

My point?

Maybe it's that nothing is certain out there. But what can you count on? Who can you count on? You can always rely on yourself.

There's this old hardcore band from NYC called the cro mags and on there first album age of quarrel, there's a line: " you come into this world with nothing but yourself/ you leave this world with nothing but yourself" you can walk through life taking the easy road, screwing the world over, stepping on everyone who gets in your way. But you can't bullshit yourself either. We all know who we really are, we all know the good and bad we do on a daily basis.

So when you reflect on life what can you say? How do you live? Do you help people for the sake of helping them or do you expect something in return? Life challenges us everyday, we all have to confront obstacles we all have great oppurtunitys to show what we have to give to the world. Think about it, when it hits the fan and were forced to make decisions, if everyone chose to do the right thing the world would be such a great place, a better place,

A rising tide raises all ships it's never to late to start making ammends, it's never to late it's never to late to start taking the difficult road, it's never to late. Never.
