Shon-rai'ee had finally fulfilled her destiny. Raised for years as a shaman of the Khandorians, she was prepared for this day. The words to the ancient spell flowed out of her trembling lips, practiced a thousand times in boring training rituals. This time they had meaning. This would be the last time she ever had to say them, for today, she was to die. She was prepared for death, more so than expected. She always knew the time would come to fulfill her visionquest and protect her people. What was unexpected was the serene, calm feeling sh had wash over her. The elder spirits were with her. THE OOLAXIANS WOULD NOT CLAIM THE GAIA SPHERE THIS DAY. As the enemy closed in, teeth gnarling and weapons poised, the last word fell from her lips. Everything around her went eerily quiet for a few seconds. Then with the force of a thousand suns, the Gaia sphere exploded, taking with it every Oolaxian invader, their foul beast mounts, and her Chon-ti-auk, her life force. As she faded to non-existence, a smile washed over her lips. She had done well. Her planet was safe for another century.
