april 1977,,custom house signalbox, with resident signalman bert handing the single line token to north woolwich to the driver,the main signal is off to north woolwich,the smaller signal took you onto a small stub of the old beckton branch where the odd train would turn back.once stood on the single line for 2 hours as the frame had locked up, and we had to await the arrival of the lines resident s&t man to effect repairs.
