A Promise Never Ending

From photograph standards, this isn't very good. Taken from my living room window with 2 of the 5 children in the room hanging on me, I was amazed it was as good as it is. This was taken yesterday, Sept. 6th. Yesterday, Thursday, in my world was an interesting day to say the least. The hallway door was wide open late morning when a sudden wind came though- it slammed the door shut and startled 2 of the 3 children left in the house. When it did, we all looked out the window and I noticed a group of leaves from one particular tree down the street fly off the tree, dance in the air and eventually, land on the ground. "Change is in the air" I thought to myself.

Missing my oldest one back at school and already clinging to memories of summer beach days passed, I also discovered over the last few days that a friend isn't who I thought she was. I have traveled that road far too many times in my life and the revelation doesn't get easier each time.

In the late afternoon, after the big kids came home from school, after snacks and during a game of indoor tag, it started to rain. The the sun started to shine while it was raining and once again, there it was in the sky. My favorite reminder that no matter what happens in this life, His promise to bring me safely home with Him is never ending. All I have to do is believe. One of my day care kids asked me, "Paula, how are rainbows made again? It's the sun that makes them right?" With hope in my heart and conviction in my voice I answered, "Nope, God makes rainbows- His first of many promises to us." Jeremiah 29:11 "Behold the plans I have for you.." declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
