Self-portrait for Strobist self-study. This image was originally inspired by a GQ ad; I liked the mood and tone. Although I was satisfied with my first attempt, I wanted to make various RealLife edits (i.e. shave, groom, shirt with no logo, different background, and shallower DOF).

1. Canon 580EX with eBay slave, M 1/16, umbrella with DIY diffusion panel, camera right ~3ft (~5ft up), ~3ft in front of subject
2. Sigma EF-500 DG Super in optical slave mode, M 1/16, bare bulb into small plant, background light on mini tripod at ground level ~3ft behind subject
