AMTRAK MAKES AN UNSCHEDULED SERVICE STOP AT COLLINWOOD YARD WITH A VERY LATE LAKESHORE LIMITED - CLEVELAND, OHIO - FEBRUARY 11, 1978
The westbound Lakeshore LImited, running about 6 hours late, is seen making an unplanned service stop at Collinwood Yard. Not sure if it was for diesel, water, or both, but normally Amtrak didn't stop here for servicing as far as I recall. The winter of 1977-1978 remains one for the records books, and played havoc with the railroads. Far in the back, we can see Conrail getting ready to head out with a plow train, following Amtrak west. No idea where they were headed, but you don't normally see that kind of activity around here. I went west with the Amtrak but now I am wondering why I didn't follow the plow train instead.
