DENVER & RIO GRANDE WESTERN CLASSIC BLACK CABOOSE BRINGS UP THE REAR OF THE FREIGHT BEING PULLED BY THE SIX TUNNEL MOTORS - SEDALIA, COLORADO - JULY 4, 1982
Back when the tail end of trains were properly dealt with, a caboose brings up the back end of the previously posted 6 tunnel motor powered freight. This train has one of D&RGW's classic solid black cabooses, which was the original paint scheme for Grande cabooses. It had to be one of the most unique caboose paint jobs around, but I definitely liked the later two color scheme much better.
Being that we are already 5 weeks now of hanging out in Colorado, I'm thinking this is a nice tail end to our Grande adventure. The caboose is following some rather neat looking MoPac hoppers with stone loads, and heading to the MoPac would be a great destination, except it's one of the larger roads that I did not get to spend much time on. So who knows what comes next, we will just have to see what grabs me.
