MAINE CENTRAL TRAIN #324 ROLLS WEST OVER AN INLET OF THE ATLANTIC OCEAN - HARDING, MAINE (WEST OF BATH) - SEPTEMBER 30, 1981
Two GP-38's have westbound train #324 moving along as they cross the New Meadows River for a sunny "Trestle Thursday" view. The best I can tell, this is a very long inlet coming up from the Gulf of Maine, but Last MEC Dispatcher below informed me it's the New Meadows River, which is a 12 mile long "Tidal River". Train #324 is the regular Rockland to Brunswick and back job, but this day he also has ballast hoppers on the head end. That was due to MEC performing some track improvements on this branch in 1981.
