Altocumulus undulatus

The view from my bedroom window at 7:10 this morning.

 

These clouds are formed by the variable wind speeds at different altitudes. When blowing at different speeds above and below the cloud layer, the wind can cause the cloud to bunch up into ridges, which curve, join and divide, like fingers in the sky.
