'Night/Day'
This is an image I've had in my mind for over 7yrs since I first went to take a look at the quirky Glasgow Kelvin College (known as the Springburn College which was formerly the John Wheatley College, the North Glasgow College and Stow College). That marvelllous sharp, pointy edge is a really eyecatching, architectural flourish. I imagined it at sunrise reflecting dark night with stars to the north (left) and to the south(right) the warm skies of sunrise. Turns out my memory is not so good because when I got there today there's actually no real window surface for reflection. This image is unashamedly edited to produce the kind of idea I'd had in mind all that time. Today became the day to try and execute it. I'd hoped to get out late last night for landscapes with the Milky Way bit it was cloudy and clear skies not forecast till well after midnight so I turned in, knackered. I optimistically set my alarm for 5am hoping to get out somewhere and catch dark skies (moonset 4am) then some sunrise shots. But at 5am I was too cosy so I turned on the radio instead and caught England winning the superover versus New Zealand in the deciding T20 match of their series. I lay in bed till about 6.30am when my inner voice screaming 'lazy git!' in my head finally drove me for my longjohns and woolly hat and I headed forth deciding today was the day to prowl the surprisingly empty streets of Springburn.
