The Cobbler at Sunrise
A hand held snap with a 300mm lens in low light at dawn so it's not the crispest shot but The Cobbler is such a dramatic hill and the snow just accentuates this. The brief tinge of Alpenglow adds that little bit extra. A few minutes later and the glow was gone and the skies turned a leaden grey and later in the morning the snow fell. I took this from the Mountain Rescue Post at Arrochar last weekend. I'd gone up early to tag along with the team as they familiarised themselves with the new Sikorsky search & rescue helicopters and to take photos. Alas the helicopters called off because of the weather.
