Paint the Street
The Springfield Art Association is hosting a community block party where you literally PAINT THE STREETS OF DOWNTOWN SPRINGFIELD!
Event will run between 4th and 8th Streets on Washington Street, downtown Springfield. Show up to paint any time after 12PM and be finished up by 7PM. Streets will reopen at 10PM, so make sure you leave enough time for your paint to dry!
Participant / groups will purchase a 6' x 6' square of street on which they can paint anything they wish. Up to 6 participants can be assigned to one 6' x 6' square
Participant / groups will receive an event bag containing: paint supplies (including the tempera paint we will be using which is water soluble/washable) and giveaway goodies from sponsors.
$35/Square ($40 at the door)
$45/Professional Square ($600 in cash prizes to be won. Must register in advance. See website for full details)
Visitors will enjoy this unique outdoor gallery on the day of the event, and for months to come, until Nature clears the street to prepare the canvas for next year's event .
