Amtrak's "Southwest Chief," train No. 4, accelerates out of the dip at West Darling, Arizona on the morning of February 26, 1994. A westbound intermodal freight can be seen climbing out of the same "swag" in the distance. I'm not immediately familiar with Santa Fe milepost designations, but it's still about 1600 miles to the train's final destination at Chicago Union Station.
