Thankfully I had the presence of mind to take a few photos of the Southern Railway depot at Duffield, Va. This shot was taken on October 3, 1975. This end (the railroad "west" side) was amputated after the end of passenger service in 1939. It held the waiting rooms. The building was later cut into pieces and moved to Hiltons Va., where it was reassembled. The train order boards were set at "stop," in accordance with Southern rules for train order/timetable territory. A passing siding was in the foreground but was removed a few years after the end of steam.
