The trail goes right up the spine of the mountain. To the left is a big drop-off. To the right a big drop-off. It is good to get to the park very early (7 am) so you will get in quickly and find a parking spot and the trail with less people. And no long lines at the park shuttle. When I came back from the hike at 1 pm the parking lot was jammed.
